UNUSUAL WEATHER SHOCKS HORIZON CITY

By R. Jonas Bush

Residents of Horizon city Texas were shocked by some very unusual weather on January 31st. Severe winds caused dust and dirt storms all afternoon. The winds proved to be strong enough to knock over a child! Then, on February 1st, snow fell, and the temperature dropped to 8 degrees. The next day, Groundhog Day, the temperature dropped to a measly 2 degrees! That day the power to Horizon City went out twice, once in the morning for 2 hours, and once in the evening for 30 minutes. All city activities and most stores were closed. That night, all the city water pipes froze, leaving Horizon City with no running water.

Mr. Robert Bush, a local resident said, “One day it’s 70 degrees, the next it’s 2 and snowing! I’m almost afraid to go outside! Who knows what nature will whip up next!”

DRESDEN RUNS 14 MILES!

By Leslie Bush

Dresden Bush ran 14 miles on Mountwood Street, ElPaso, TX. She is training for a marathon. She ran on Saturday, with her husband, Robert Joel Bush who is also training for a marathon. Along the way she listened to music on her son’s iPod. She had a positive attitude the entire time, which helped her finish her run.
