Piano

The kids are loving their piano lessons!  They all learn each others' songs to keep up with each other. Troy also loves to transpose every single song.  The talent is there, but it is overwhelming to hear the songs over and over again by each child and also in each key!  I am incredibly grateful for our wonderful piano teacher and all that she is teaching them!  I am excited to hear their progress!

NEW YEARS 2016

Every New Year's Day we do something our family has never done before.  This is getting hard to find activities, because we do fun stuff all throughout the year together.
Last year (2015) we had an on-going joke with the Evans about making a Finding Nemo Musical.  So for New Year's Day, our family performed a musical puppet show of Finding Nemo.  I know you are disappointed that you didn't see it!  It actually was a lot of fun.  We all made the stick puppets.  Bob made the curtains and the sea stage.  Jonas, Owen, Troy, Micah, and Leslie made songs on Garage Band to supplement the script.  It was epic.  We now wish we had recorded it, but since it was about 30 minutes, it would have been ridiculous to load onto our blog.  The memories will have to suffice.

Flamenco Dancing

Leslie was given an opportunity to learn Spanish dancing from a lady in our ward.  She and two other girls performed and did very well in front of the young women.  They are also going to be performing at military functions and nursing homes.

Piano Recital

The kids had their first piano recital on Saturday.  They are awesome.  I have videos and pictures galore of them performing, but I really love this picture of them with their teacher, Cathy Lumi.  She is awesome.  In just 4 months, she has encouraged them to play songs from Star Wars, The Hobbit, Mozart, hymns, and original compositions.  The kids love the piano!

Plus also... how cute are these KitKat keyboards!
Thanks pinterest, for an idea that I can actually do...

Pioneer Day

This just says (or sings) it all. I love their enthusiasm and faith. They are modern day pioneers. The future is as bright as our faith!

To Be A Pioneer
(LDS Children's Songbook)

You don't have to push a handcart,
Leave your family dear,
Or walk a thousand miles or more
To be a pioneer!

You do need to have great courage,
Faith to conquer fear,
And work with might for a cause that's right
To be a pioneer!

For our "Helaman"

Pardon our "a capella-ness", we really should have recorded this with our pianist and Mamma so we could get some harmony in. Oh well. Dad, we love you!!!
