Sometimes we have to convince ourselves...

Gideon was positive that he would love drinking soy sauce.  Leslie caught his reaction on camera...

National "I Love Reese's Day"

I'm forever finding funny holidays, and this one was a clear winner.  The kids were so excited to make treats and eat them too, of course!

Leslie went to the store and made a cookie/Reese's/brownie dessert which was F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.

Utah Trip to meet Asher

I went to Utah to be with Blythe and Greg when they had their 10# baby!  He's adorable, and I'm going through withdrawals now.  Good thing I have plenty of pictures!  I pull them out and look at them and show him off to friends...  I guess I'm excited he's here!

The kids did really well while I was gone, and they learned a new appreciation for how hard I work at home.  I checked in with them at least daily, and with our Vivint security camera, I was able to participate/watch them have family prayers on their own.  What a heart-warming experience to see my kids rise to the challenge of preparing meals, doing school together, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and continuing with seminary and gospel studies through the day.

Leslie got her license!

Her first trip wasn't solo... She took Reuben to get frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf.  He was the most supportive and excited kid who kept asking when she would get her license and was thrilled when she passed her test.

Star Wars Day 2015

This is just a weird tradition.  Most of my kids haven't even seen all (or even any) of the Star Wars movies.  But it's fun anyway, so we keep on doing it!  Here are the pix from this year:

Avengers Marathon

Before Avengers: Age of Ultron came out this past month, we "prepared" and celebrated by watching the superhero movies in chronological order.  We had fun dressing up, creating little lego replicas, and also eating some fun foods that correlated with the movies...

Captain America: pizza (shield shape!)
Hulk: Hulk cookies
Iron Man: Chili (red and orange colors..., kind of a stretch!)
Iron Man 2: Hulk Milkshakes (since Iron Man is the only one who can even try to bring Hulk down!)
Thor: Hot chocolate (I'll have another!)
Avengers: Chicken shwarama (this was a surprising delicious dinner)
Iron Man 3: tuna fish sandwiches and cranberries (he asks for a sandwich from his kid sidekick, and Jarvis says the "wrong cranberry")
Thor 2: cereal night (they sit around and eat cereal in a scene)
Captain America 2: Thai food (it is on his list of things to experience)

I only got pictures of our Hulk Sugar cookies.

Bob and I previewed the movie on Friday night, then took the kids to it Saturday afternoon.  We had a ton of fun!
