High Adventure Scout Camp

Bob, Jonas, Owen, and Troy were gone for a week to high adventure.  They went to Roswell, NM and had a blast at Carslbad Caverns and Bottomless Lake State Park.  They went on the highest zip-line in the world and it is also the third longest in the world.  Lots of fun!

Owen doing a cannonball off the rock structure
(don't worry, they totally checked the depth...)

He and Troy swam the width AND the length of the lake AND back.

Troy resting after getting his merit badge!

Another highlight was apparently tracking, killing, skinning, cooking,
and eating the thieving raccoon.
(Gross.) The boys said it tasted like chicken.
I asked them,
why would you eat something that eats your garbage!?!?!?!?

They had an awesome time, made lots of memories,

and I know they are going to keep on adventuring!

Summer Fun

Ouch, this was a bad sunburn!  We burned Reuben a couple of days later.

Reading with Reuben... he's doing great!

I made a quilt!  All by myself!

I gave this to the couple who organized Trek this year...
Each bandana represented a family or staff that was on trek.
The white one represents the theme: Fear Not, Only Believe.

Back to normal...?

Here are some peeks into our kids activities:

Drawing Mario Brothers

A Teddy Bear Picnic:

Dressing up as superheroes:
(including a dog we were "dog-sitting" for a week)

Utah trip

We loved being with family in Utah.  We took a lot of pictures, but obviously we lived our vacation instead of capturing every moment on camera, since we are missing snapshots of a lot of favorite memories...

I know my siblings and parents took more pictures... including a few of picnics with PoppaKeith and Jeanene, pool time with Mamma and Pa Dave, family luncheon on Asher's blessing day, a temple trip with siblings and cousins, and Grandpa and Grandma Bush's Family Home Evening carnival...  Lots of fun moments!
I think a lot of them are on Facebook...

Here are some:

Owen and Asher
The kids discovered a bunny... "Can we keep him?"

Cousin time with foosball, ping-pong, cooking, playing Werewolf,
Ninja, Blindman Swordfighting, etc.
Somehow I didn't get any pictures of jet ski fun!

Hiking with cousins, Evelyn and Hazel

Hiking Adam's Canyon in Layton, UT

 THE "CHOCOLATING":
When we buy a whole bunch of chocolate (cheap!) and
smear it, dump it, throw it
on everyone who is crazy enough to have fun with us!

On our way home we were blocked by a herd of sheep:

And we saw a beautiful double rainbow in New Mexico:

Trek was AWESOME!

Bob and I could talk your ear off about trek.  We loved being a Ma and Pa to our 11 kids.  We loved them immediately, and that love grew over the next 4 days.  We had a lot of hard times, but the bonding and increase of our family's faith was worth it.  We both consider this trek to be life-changing.  When we get pictures, we will post them!
