Easter 2016

Coloring eggs....

The Egg Hunt!

On Sunday, Gideon wanted a snack so he grabbed an apple and opened a kitchen drawer for the apple slicer.  He "got distracted" and started running around the house with two spatulas, acting out the part of a very fierce ninja.  When he ran back into the kitchen, he ran straight into the open drawer and crashed his forehead into the corner.  He fell to the ground bleeding.  After cleaning Gideon up, Bob borrowed some superglue from the PeƱas and put "Humpty Dumpty" together again.
The very sweet moment happened during Gideon's prayer for lunch.
He thanked Heavenly Father for Easter and for Jesus and that we can be healed.
He put the two events together - his pain, and the Savior's ability to heal us because of Easter.
I'm thankful for the sweetness of the Savior's love this Easter.

Our beautiful/handsome kids waiting for Easter dinner....

Wyler Tramway

We finally made it to the El Paso Wyler Tramway!  It was a long line, and pretty windy, but we made it up the four minute ride and saw some amazing views.  On a clear day, you can see Mexico, Texas, and New Mexico.

This is my kid's dentist office...

All the kids had dentist appointments this week.  Most of them play in the huge Chuck E. Cheese-like arcade.  Some watch the movie in the theater room.  But these two love playing on the train and the carousel!  Far cry from when I would be dragged to a dentist office.  These kids want to go to the dentist/kid-heaven every day!

14! The twins are 14!!!

We had an awesome day filled with fun activities and celebrations for Owen and Troy's birthday. Krispy Kreme was the first priority, and then we came home for games (chess, Pokemon, and Wii). We went on a desert adventure walk, and then the boys went with Mark to go disc golfing.  I finished up the cakes, and then we had dinner, presents, and cake(s).

All in all, an amazing day to celebrate my two favorite fourteen year olds in the world!
I love you Owen and Troy!

He's got braces!  Looking good, Owen!

Checking out the donuts!

Presents:
This year we made a family goal to only give one store-bought present at each birthday.
All other presents must be food related OR homemade.
It's already a challenge.

PacMan Youth Activity

Leslie was in charge of the combined youth activity for the month of March.  She chose to do a life-size PacMan, which was awesome.  We had masking tape, black lights, glowsticks, hats and bowls with pingpong balls to put in backpacks, and ghosts to chase down the PacMan.  Owen drew and colored the decorations.

She also had a spiritual thought to go with it, based on Elder Richard G. Scott's talk, Make the Exercise of Faith Your First Priority.  She listed the 4 faith promoting activities (prayer, scripture study, FHE, and temple attendance) as the "power pellets" that chase the ghosts away.  She's awesome.

3.14.16 Pi Day

Learning about pi and also eating it too is the best kind of school!

Somehow we didn't get pictures of our baked spaghetti pie
or our Mexican silk pie before they were consumed.
 We were too hungry!
