Jonas has finished the Old Testament. This is a monumental achievement! I am proud of his diligent reading, usually 5 chapters a day. Today he took longer than usual in his scripture time in order to surprise with reading 12 chapters to finish! He wrote in his scripture journal,
"I am very excited that I finished the Old Testament. I have been working on it for about 7 months! It was kind of confusing though."
In reading through some of his earlier journal entries, he learned a lot from reading the Old Testament (even though it was confusing). Here are some earlier entries.
"I learned to obey the prophets and the Lord or the consequences will be severe. Poor Zedekiah!"
"These people need to work on obedience."
"Nothing can ever be completely evil, because they will care about something. That is a tiny speck of good."
"Moral: Be righteous or you will be destroyed. Thought: What would it feel like to be marked for destruction?"
"Moral: Don't be wicked. Note: There is a lot of destruction because of wickedness."
"If I was in king Zedekiah's place I would pray to the Lord."
"Note: I want to be good and wait and seek the Lord."
"Ezekiel is probably the most confusing book, but I try to read. I didn't really catch anything except for "watchman on the tower" and "four beasts" so, I'll do my best to learn!"
"I wonder what it would feel like to have visions."
"Ezekiel was sad because Egypt was going to fall. It was a big part of their lives. Note: I would be sad if... let's say Australia or Africa was destroyed."
I am so proud of Jonas and his reading of the Old Testament. He is a huge example to me and to the rest of our family!

That is so awesome! I am glad that you recorded that. Does he write in his scripture journal each time he reads? That's pretty amazing too! A lot of adults haven't read the Old Testament, Jonas! What a fabulous accomplishment!

WOW!! That is awesome!!! Reading this just makes us want to be better at our scripture reading especially with the girls and our Jonas (even though he is so small). A scripture journal is such a good idea!!

That is amazing! Jonas you are such a great example. I have never read the old testament, or the new testament for that matter. Great Job! You will make a great General Authority some day!
