Our new Family Home Evening theme this year is RANDOM activities. Before the first Monday, we turned to the pages of a cheap-o dictionary, called out letters, and picked a random word from the dictionary. Those words went down on the calendar for Monday Evening Activities (I know, I know, un-spontaneous randomness…hmmmmmm…..). The person on "activity" for that week gets to use that word however they want in the activity.
Jonas went first.
He was quite creative. We played a game similar to "Fruit Basket" where every third person was a Melon, Orange, or Pineapple. The person in the middle called out one fruit and then those fruits scrambled for new seats. The leftover person then stands in the middle. If the person in the middle called out "M.O.P.", then everyone grabbed a wet rag, washed and dried a tile square in the kitchen, and then raced back to the seats. It was fun, and we also got a clean(ish) floor out of the activity. Thanks Jonas!
Next Monday… "Top Hat"!

So fun and creative!
Sometimes we really get in a rut for activities, great idea to change it up.
Cleanish floor is better than a dirty floor. Good game, Jonas.
