Groundhog Day

Remember the movie Groundhog Day? I think daily mothering is quite like that! We keep doing the same thing day after day, gradually improving. Interspersed are almost perfect days, but usually moms (and/or the kids) mess up.

I used to dread Mother's Day because of the guilt trips, but today I embraced a new philosophy. I want to choose to see the best that I do instead of the worst. Eventually the bad moments will fade away, and I'll have lived the best day, and I can move on to tomorrow...

Happy Mother's Day!

Why do we mothers resist the idea of a day that honors us? The guilt trips, feelings of inadequacy seems to blind us to the fact that being a parent gives us the opportunity to love others (our children) as God loves us. What a gift! Mother's Day must celebrate that gift! Good for you, Dresden for embracing that and enjoying your day! I love you!!!!

Yes motherhood is like groundhog's day...I thought the same thing everyday of my mission too and now I look back at the whole picture and am so grateful for the good and bad but I mostly remember just the good. :)

You are awesome Dresden! There is so much I have learned from you and continue to learn.
Wish we still lived close to you, hopefully someday.

I have also felt that way. Too bad I didn't learn earlier to take you opinion. Guess I was a slow learner. You are a great mom, I would vouch for you anyday.
