ER visit

Oh no, another blog that will be sure to have many "E"'s.

Troy was jumping off some furniture on Monday (the day that Daddy left) and of course he cut open his head. He crashed into the corner of the wall, even denting the wall a bit. He came running to me with his hand over his bloody wound and as soon as I saw his gash, I knew we had just won a trip to the emergency room. He was very upset, even saying, "I have a hole in my head and I'm going to die, and Daddy's not even here!"

Luckily, Grandpa and Grandma were here, so I didn't have to find anyone to watch the kids. What a merciful and amazing break for me! We drove over and were admitted quickly because he had thrown up twice and wet himself. With a head injury, those are not great signs! He had lab work done, an IV put in place just in case, and a CT scan. All was negative, and then the doctor glued his head back together. Troy really liked seeing his skull pictures so close to Halloween.

All is well now, and Troy has not jumped off furniture for a record 3 days!

Now you know how the rest of us feel with no doctors in our lives.. We have to take our children in for everything! That is a great war wound Troy! Hopefully it doesn't scar but if it does.. sounds like you have a pretty good story to tell!
WE MISS YOU!

You know, if you were to have said, "Guess which one of my kids dented the wall with his/her head from jumping off the furniture and got a massive head wound", we wouldn't even have hesitated in saying, "Troy!" :)

Oh, what an ordeal. I'm so glad that everything is ok...and I'm so glad that mom and dad were there.

Oh that's scary! I heard that story from Mom and I'm glad he's OK. Kind of reminds me of a poem or song or something... "No more monkey's jumping on the bed!".

I'm sorry- it seems like all those things happen when the dad is gone. Maybe it just seems like that because dads have a way of making things go smoother. Who knows. I am glad you had help and that Troy is learning what gravity can do!
